51°49'31.71"N 10°10'22.07"W Sunny outside with a 7 knot southerly wind. Captain’s Log: 06/01/26 It had recently occurred to me a week or so ago that I had neglected to write a log entry for the beginning of May. Thankfully not a lot of activity had passed in that time, however the same cannot be said for the month of May itself. Easily my most stressful, but most recently active in writing months I’ve had for a short while. Enclosed to you my dear crew member, is my address to you on our current course. Concerning my writing: I’ve managed a little over 3500 words two weeks ago, and another 3500 last week, all planning on maintaining my current pace on the weekly basis if I can help it. We’re well into the first main act and presently sitting at 47K words and 130 pages in draft 1 for the second entry to my series. As of recently I came across my own writing having a bit of a predicament, and I’m worried I may have bitten off a bit more than I can chew. The best way t...

53°20'38.20"N 6°15'18.32"W Brisk northerly winds just shy of 8 knots. Been raining heavily the past few days, today seems to be the first day with pleasant weather in a while. Captain's Log: 4/2/2026 I swear I blinked and here I am once again writing another log entry. This previous month had gone by so quickly, it's causing me to yet again, reevaluate the tasks in my daily routine. Either the days are getting shorter or somehow I'm moving slower. Neither is a pleasant scenario to dwell upon. However today seems pleasant and after consumption of much needed caffeine, I think I'm ready to divulge for you this months log entry. Concerning my writing: Admittedly, my writing has been without any gusts of wind in my sails as of late. Due to heavily focusing on wedding plans, daily chores and the process of seeking out another job that pays better and offers for me greater opportunity. Although slow a few pages have been done, although I'm scarcely bee...

53°17'41.41"N 8°56'32.58"W 40 degrees with with a gentle 3 knot northerly wind Captain's Log: 03/03/2026 Sometimes when enduring the process of writing a long narrative, one sometimes tends to make discoveries along the way. Not only within your own writing, but inside the foundations you've already laid out. With the chilling cold winds of winter prepping its departure, and the warm sunny days of the coming seasons ahead of my bow. While I personally don't fancy the heat of the summer, the longer sunny days do fill my heart with excitement. With March having just begun, it's time to enclose your monthly log entry. Concerning my Writing: Currently sitting at a humble 40K words in the first draft of my second manuscript, the second installment in my Last Pirate King series, which will now be forecasted for 5 books altogether. Along the way of beginning the final main scene before, presently in my writing at this very moment, opening up the first main ...

51°55'44"N 8°34'14"W Sunny day outside but a chilly 20 degrees, Southerly winds of 5 knots. Captain's Log: 2/4/2026  I've often wondered if my writing process is any different from others'. Or if in some crazed maddening way I'm one of those slightly more strange to what could be considered the "normal process" when it comes to writing. Odds are likely that I'm not much more different than many others, who may possibly, think the same way towards themselves. I'm curious how other writers communicate with their muses, unless you're one without a muse, which would fascinate me further. Concerning my Writing: While I hadn't made the milestone in the allotted time that I had originally hoped for,  I can now say with full confidence that I have officially made it to my 100th page of the first draft for the second entry in my series. As I stated in my last few entries, dialogue scenes are the bane of my existence. I'm not very...

53°20'32"N 6°15'43"W 42 Degrees with some rain approaching on our bow, with 10 knot winds trying to take us North.   Captain’s Log: 01/06/2026 Summary: Ahoy lads! It’s the new year! An important moment to let go of the previous year now past, and an opportunity to look forward to the coming tides of new winds ahead of us. Over the bow the sun rises beckoning the call to sail forward, who am I to ignore such a call? Nonetheless the wind be moving out towards the sea, and it’s time to unfurl my sails. But before I do that, it’s time we chart our course. Concerning my writing: First and foremost, an effort was made to make it to page 100 before the toll of the end of the year, alas the anticipated arrival to that page was not met. However I’m only behind by 10 pages. Best I arrive later than not at all as many tend to encourage me. Perhaps my self-discipline is louder than their voices because I’m still relatively disappointed with myself, all while still proud of the ef...

52°02'29"N 9°31'56"W Soft gentle northerly breeze of about a knot and a half.  Captain's Log: 12/01/2025 Been off from my duties as captain for the past four days; four days off I truly needed. In those four days it gave me enough time to reflect on the past 30 hectic days upon brainstorming my next log entry.  Concerning my writing: Last week's few pages hit me like an out of control freight train. While I've recently taken up to doing more digital art than I have in the past few years, last week not only did I manage to make some time to continue on the next entry in The Last Pirate King, I managed a satisfying two and a half pages worth of writing; which is more than I've done in a while, since some days I can barely get even a page done. Nonetheless, I managed about a good two and a half pages and my goal of reaching page 100 before the end of the year is still very present--as I'm actively still trying to accomplish that goal.  Even though I...

52°39'02"N 7°14'57"W Gusty 12 knot eastward winds Captain's Log: 11/04/2025 Like most of my previous log entries, these past 30 days have been filled to the brim with events, tasks, and various activities outside of my usual daily routine. But nonetheless lets get this report moving savvy? Concerning my writing: While I've managed a good four or five pages since my last entry, I've come to terms with the list of narrative tasks that will need to be addressed in my current project before I can finally bring about the events of the first act. What one of my beta readers has definitely come to learn about me as a writer, after beta reading The Last Pirate King,  is that I'm particular and overly vague in my build up to the first main act; that it's not until the first main act that you'd even know the theme or what the narrative is even meant to be. A task I've taken much needed focus into correcting while working on my second project. Howev...
