A Beginning

Captain's Log: 5/2/2025

Many thoughts have flooded my mind towards entertaining the idea of having a monthly blog. While as a writer this could both be a fun venture as well as a possible labor of love. So to clarify the implications of this particular chronicle of scribbles from a certainly to become professional scribbler, I'll lay out the what and why of these logs.

A few years ago, shortly after I began my journey in writing my(Hopefully soon publication to be) debut novel, The Last Pirate King, I was working as a manager at FedEx Ground. Jokingly I ran my loading dock as if it were a ship, with methods I've learned from various captain's in the world of fiction, such as Captain Janeway, Picard, and Jack Sparrow. Thus adapting the theme of my dock being like that of a ship, and everyone calling me The Captain. It was then, while working on the first draft of my book, that I had applied my seafaring persona to an even further level by adapting it into how I wrote my weekly "send offs" to my, front half of the week counterpart--as I worked on the back half of the week. There my seafaring voice became heard as I wrote my weekly send offs in the voice of a seafaring captain simply trying to make it through a voyage, by expressing my week as if it were a sailing journey. One of my work buddies loved the concept and asked me to CC him with my weekly send offs. Next thing many more of my co-workers wanted to be CCed in the email and thus the weekly send off ended up going back to what it was, and started a whole separate weekly email we called The Captain's Log. In my weekly Captain's Log, I would chronicle my three day venture of simply trying to make it through the days that pass. The struggles of being a manager in one of the most stressful jobs I have ever worked, and the storms my crew conquered towards the end of the week.

At this point I was originally going to begin my log entries again with X tweets but I can sadly only write so much in a single X tweet. It wasn't until much later that I had heard that many writers utilize Blogs to write out and chronicle their writing journey. Thus deciding, at this moment, to begin another Captain's Log. These entries will include monthly updates on my writing journey, events in my personal life, current thoughts, and the status of the crew's morale.

At that, lets begin this journey together.

Until we next make full sail,
